“When the Earth is ravaged and the animals are dying, a new tribe of people shall come unto the Earth from many colors, classes, creeds and who by their actions and deeds shall make the Earth green again. They will be known as the Warriors of the Rainbow.”
– Old Native American Prophecy.
Art for me is an ongoing dialogue with life and my journey as an artist continues to be a process of self-discovery and self-healing. While some of my paintings are representational, most of them share insights gained from reflection and reading, and my personal journey through life.
My current concept, which has been my favorite theme for several years now, is about the human race living in harmony with Nature. Backed by ancient India’s Vedantha philosophy of “Tat Tvam Asi”, or “I Am That”, and the promise of Quantum physics that the world is really a swarm of atoms in constant flux, my art aims to bring home the unseen reality of oneness. Imaging this has become my personal agenda now: Of reminding people of the magic of Nature, encouraging them to look at it again, and to realize that we are all “a part” of Nature, not “apart” from it, as it seems on the surface. Sure, not all of us are capable of “seeing” that “truth”, that we are all deeply interconnected with all that is, at a very basic, atomic level. Hence, my art serves as a mnemonic and a talisman of this underlying reality.
While Nature itself is my greatest source of inspiration, my love for meditation and spending time in Nature have shaped the art that I am called to make, art that is as much a personal statement as a global call to self-realization.
